This Morgan Monroe beginner banjo is the lowest cost bluegrass banjo with 24 brackets and a wood rim. It's Morgan Monroe's newest beginner model and replaces the previous MB-100 and MB-15 bluegrass beginner banjos with resonator.
If you want to learn how to play 5 string banjo, the Rocky Top RT-B24 is a great place to start. This banjo has features that are typically only found in banjos costing much more, such as a geared 5th peg, 3-ply Maple rim with mahogany resonator.

This video is actually of the discontinued RT 15. The RT 15 was very similar except the RT 24 was upgraded to 24 brackets from 18. Other upgrades include an armrest, 3-ply maple rim, a 10 year warranty and a better look. For now this video will show you close to what the Rocky Top RT 24 will sound like.
