The Banjola Plus gives 5-string banjo players an opportunity to make new music with a whole new sound and is excellent for practicing your banjo quieter too. It has a pleasing sustaining sound and is more forgiving of mistakes than your average bluegrass banjo.
With the neck of a 5-string banjo and the body of a mandolin, the Gold Tone Banjola has a sonic personality all of its own.
Featuring a standard 5-string banjo neck and the body of a mandolin (or mandola), the Gold Tone Banjola is a beautiful instrument with exquisite tone and sustain that you won't find in a standard 5-string banjo.
The solid spruce top is paired up with visually and tonally appealing curly stained maple for the back & sides to deliver a bright and beautifully resonant voice that's unlike any other banjo you have ever heard. A vintage brown finish and celluloid binding caters to the traditional vibe. The 26-1/2"-scale neck is carved from maple and topped with a rosewood fingerboard that features medium frets and dot/shooting star inlays. The headstock comes equipped with a set of planetary tuners and showcases a shooting star inlay to complement the fingerboard. Other features include a floating ebony bridge, a bone nut and a chrome-plated mandolin tailpiece.

I got my Banjola about 10 days ago and I am very happy with it. It has a wonderful sound and is very easy to play. I have put a pick guard on it and I am going to have some kind of piezo pick up installed inside to make it better heard when playing with other instruments. I mailed to the Gold Tone Company and asked if they knew if there were any other Banjolas in my country. They said probably not so it seems I have the only one so far.

This was the third instrument I've ordered from you. The first was a Tenor special 250 AT, for my wife. Then last year I ordered the PS-250 for myself. The service was outstanding for each order and the instruments were as close to perfect as you can get. They were ready to play right out of the box. We are now members of a local banjo club and they were impressed with our banjos. One of the members decided to order a new banjo from you and he is also happy with his new banjo.
