The "Good Time" Deering Beginner Banjo G1 is a really easy banjo to play and which makes it even easier to learn on. The price is right too and with our superior beginner package you can get started playing and practicing right away.
This American made beginner banjo is easy to learn on and reasonably priced. The Goodtime banjo is very light which makes learning easier at first. It stays in tune and has an amazing tone that is bright but not harsh. The tone is a pleasing mellow tone which will encourage you to practice and they feel good in your hands.

....Hello Ross, I received my Goodtime Banjo in, what to me must be, record time; not more than 48 hours after we spoke on the phone.
I love it. It’s a great, light-weight, banjo with excellent tone. Is it the equivalent of a $1,200 - $1,500 banjo? Of course not, it’s not intended to be. I have read many reviews of the Deering Goodtime and most critics seem to be missing the point: the Goodtime is not intended to be the last banjo you will ever purchase (if it is, the banjo was probably not the instrument for you in the first place).
Even in the short time that I have had it, I find it almost irresistible for its light weight and tone (just snatch it off the rack and practice for a while; much more tempting than my 12-pound alternative; although I do like my RK-35). The armrest and the capo spikes are also a welcome addition. Finally, the setup was perfect, just a quick tune and I was ready to go. It will suit my needs perfectly as my wife and I travel a lot in our RV. Thank you for recommending it!

Very pleased with this banjo.

My previous banjo was a "no name" brand, which was ok to learn chords and strums. I progressed to the point where I felt I had to move up. I chose this Deering model and I'm glad I did. I play clawhammer and two finger style. The sound is crisp and true and it looks great. This package comes with every thing you need at a great price.
