Learning the Major Minor and Seventh Banjo Chords Up the Neck
Improve your Banjo Backup and learn the 5-string banjo chords an easier way. The lesson is a comprehensive close-up video on learning the chords and chord shapes up and down the banjo neck without using a chord chart.
Who needs a big thick book of banjo chords when there is a simple way to work it out just knowing a few basic chord shapes. Doing it this way is the way it sticks too, with muscle memory! The lesson is presented much the way my book The Banjo Encyclopedia presents learning the chords but illustrated and explained to you on video. It's a simple, easy to remember method that should save you a lot of practice time and help keep you from learning these important chords and positions the hard way.
The video explains easy ways to find the all the major chords and also quickly locate the seventh and minor chords too from the same position. This video is an excerpt from the Banjo Jamming and Play Along DVD. If you already own that DVD, there is no need to purchase this lesson. If you don't have the Jamming Play Along DVD, purchasing this online lesson will be a low cost way to receive time saving guidance on learning your chords. Chords are the road map of all songs you play.

With your arms relaxed at your sides, measure around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, generally around the belly button. To ensure a comfortable fit, keep one finger between the measuring tape and your body.

I've been struggling along at a painfully slow rate since I got my Banjo at christmas. I got a book with a cd but found it hard going, and I was becoming fed up very quickly. Then I discovered these online lessons. Now I feel as though I'm getting somewhere, and more importantly its fun again! I would recomend these lessons to anyone who cant get to a proper teacher.
